One of the best places to live and work in the USA is Orlando Florida. Each year more people visit Orlando for the theme parks and white sand beaches. This equals jobs. In 2000, 43.3 million people visited the area making it the number one tourist destination in the world. This means there are opportunities for recent grads, or small business people. Tourism brings billions of dollars into the area's economy, opening up more opportunities to people than anywhere else in the country. This opens up the door for investments. Any way you look at it, Orlando Florida is a great place to live. It is even a great place to move if you cannot afford to buy, and are looking for a rental.
Despite what most people think, the local Metro-Orlando population is only 1 500 00. That is only a small city, when compared to the population in rest of the country, but the area is growing. Statistically, Orlando is one of the fastest growing communities in the United States. I use the word community because that is what it is - a collection of communities that creates a classic urban lifestyle, instead of a clump of high-rise buildings and concrete that you see in other parts of the country.
Downtown Orlando is a mixture of historic homes and luxury condominiums which is what holds the greatest appeal for me. Some communities like Thorton Park, Lake Eola Heights, Lake Lawsona, Lake Cherokee, and Lake Copeland are still predominantly vintage homes. Baldwin park is a new community that has been build cira 1940 architecture. The best way to start is with an Orlando Rental Home.
There is a balance between the stereotype and the 'true' Orlando, which only the residents see. For one, Lake Eloa is a hidden treasure that hosts festivals, outdoor concerts, and gondola rides on the lake. But, this is not a 'second string' venue. But, this is not a slow or laid back tourist destination.
A 45 minute drive from the theme parks takes you to countryside very similar to the UK with rolling hills and oak trees - horse breeding country. Travel south and take an airboat ride across the Everglades. Or, a quick drive to the city and you can take advantage of some of the best shopping opportunities in the USA.
All together, Orlando is a great place to live.
