Is Your Attitude Ruining Your Life/Career?

I know that many people who should read this blog will ignore it, because they are 'justified' in their righteous indignations and emotional outbursts.

Let me back up and tell you what inspired this blog. I had a woman at my table today who owes me $2500.00. She paid $400 tonight, 1 year and 4 months after the bill was due. She sat at my table and talked about the people she was angry with, and how they owed her, and how she helped them out. It never occurred to her that she was preparing to leave my house, still owing $2100.00.

She figured that she had every right to treat people bad, after all, they owed her.

Just before this, I opened my email to a flame post that insinuated I had tried to rip them off. This webmaster was angry that I had removed their link from my website, and stated they did not do business with con artists and would instantly remove my link from their web site.

It never occurred to this person that I was aware of their unscrupulous web SEO tactics which 'hid' my url from search engines so that it didn't appear like there was a reciprocal link at their site - just inbound links.

It also never occurred to this person to ask what had happened. As it was, our server crashed, we lost our content management system, and are currently rebuilding our web site.

All this made me start thinking about people's attitude. I have to admit that I am guilty of breaking many profitable working ties in my life because of righteous indignation. And, of course, we are never at fault.

I've had a few changes in my life, and have seen a lot of differences in my working relationships with people. I have to admit that a lot of this is due to life/success coaching.

Today's events just brought to mind the fact that we all have baggage, and we all bring it with us. If we are freelance writers because we couldn't get along with people at work, then we are going to have trouble with clients. If we want to get paid to write, but we are 'above' working for anything but the best clients - well, we will probably remain poor.

I know that a lot of us learn the 'error of our ways' as we grow older, and there is no use preaching, because if you do need this lesson - then you are one of the people who believe you don't.

I just wanted to write a blog on my day's events.

Hope you have a good day....
