SEO Techniques for Web 2.0

*Web 2.0 came in and Meta Tags went out.

*Google gave importance to one way links – and now most of the old SEO information became obsolete.

From a Basic level - one thing is important –

one way, inbound links

Not links from link farms, not traded links. In fact, many of these old seo tactics like heavy keyword density, link farms, building several websites and linking them together – can get a website banned.

Google rules when it comes to SEO because their algorithm is the most complex. Google looks at a websites on-site factors and off-site factors to determine how the website should rank. Off-site factors for roughly 35 to 45% of the importance Google’s algorithm gives a website or blog.

What Google looks for are links that point to a blog outside sources. The quality of the page linking must have relative content to your blog.

The best way to increase link popularity is through Blogs. Blogs are filled with valuable content and they also naturally link to websites they talk about. Remember that the link must be in the post, not in a track back. Optimum situation is page on a website discussing cars, that receives a link from a Blog post about cars, with the anchor text of the link containing the word cars.
