Most of you already know that Google has started to change their PPC program. Owners of thousands of those fake websites created to receive PPC advertising money are loosing their google accounts. Good for companies like adbrite, bad for sites like writingup.
It is also good for content heavy websites like inspiredauthor who may get back on the hit counts despite the fact that it has thousands of pages of tutorials for writers - but never seemed to come up on the searches when someone typed 'how to write' - because all the fake sites came up.
It will be interesting to see how this week's changes at Google will effect the internet and freelance writing world. It makes you wonder if keywords will make it back into the mainstream, or if links will continue to rule.
Either way, it is time to upgrade my internet marketing certificate so I can figure out what Google wants next.
The one thing that writers do need to know about this is that - as of June 1 - they may loose some of their clients. So, if you are a freelance writer - prepare to start bidding on new jobs.
