Summer

I love summer. I get to work outside. My husband goes and works on construction crews. The kids head to camp, or grandmother's house. The change is as good as a rest. Is is nice to have a change of pace.

I love afternoons hanging around the BBQ, neighbours chatting. Of course, when the men gather they start talking about truck accessories, hot cars, building supplies, and who has the best BBQ skill.

Summer doesn't last long. I usually measure it by the size of the pears on the tree, and they are half grown. In another 4 weeks we will eat them, and then the mums will bloom, and then it will be time to turn the heat back on.
