To continue the theme of reducing costs in the work at home office, I need to discuss hardware. While we buy less hardware than software, it is important to remember that hardware burns out. I've heard many work at home freelance writers complaining because their computers crashed. Most of the times these crashes are the result of faulty fans, or worn cables.
The monster cable and connection that links different parts f today's computer are far more powerful than they were even a year ago. This means more data transfer, less freezing, and less crashing.
