Ditch the Desk. When I started working at home I wanted a big wood desk. It made me feel like I was in a 'real' business. That was then. This is now. My new 'office' upstairs doesn't resemble an office at all. I have a table, tv mount, an electric fireplace, a television, and a small end table.
This is a comfortable room that is easy to work in. I have a window beside my table, so i can look out and see the street. I have lights that shine blue and yellow against the trees, adding a bit of color.
