Tourism Marketing At Its Best

Sometimes you actually find a website that understands the basic concept behind internet marketing. Of course, it didn't surprise me that this website newsletter came from a company, Trusted Tours that sponsors tourist adventures in San Diego.

They follow the first rule of marketing - give something away. If you sign up for the “Trusted Tours and Attractions” e-newsletter, you are entered into a draw for free tickets. This is another way that many writers get into travel writing.

There is always a company willing to give away vacations and tickets in vacation destinations, all they want is the exposure. Writers can give them that.

This company works from San Diego, Key West and Savannah. I've been to Key West. Of course we did all the tourist attractions from visiting a gator farm, to seeing both oceans. I've never been one for tours, but I also have to admit that I missed a lot. I like to visit 'off the beaten track' and there is a lack of that in Florida.

I would take a tour next time, just to see what I missed the first. Also - I am getting to the point where I don't want to drive anymore. My husband loves to drive and could sit in the car all day...not me. I want comfort, a coffee, and the anticipation of a great trip.

One thing I did like about Florida was the food. It wasn't strange, like when I visited Alabama. But, it tasted different - exotic, but without making me crave a burger or 'real food.'
