Freelance Writer Survival

Freelance Survival

It is highly unlikely that this bid will cause problems. One of the biggest problems that involves ethical treatment has been in the format stages. I have had clients say "I didn't want it set up, I wanted 20 pages, with titles in 12 pt, and following the above paragraph, single spaced, TNR, with 1" borders."

Of course, that page will have close to 500 words on it. The first book promises about 6000 words. The second book promises about 10 000 words. This doubles the work.

When handled with this problem, the first thing you need to understand is that the client may not be aware that they are acting unethically. They may really believe that this is how they should receive the book. They may come from a culture where people barter - and they are trying to barter with you.

The problem is, if you do not solve the problem before writing, you may end up not getting paid.
