Working Over Christmas

How do you schedule your work time over Christmas. I had at least 10 hours of writing to do last Saturday. But, instead I made Christmas cookies and played a five hour video game with my son. I knew that I would need to make it up, but the kids are growing up, and there are only a few family Christmases left.

That made me rethink how I schedule work of Christmas. Of course, I need to make enough money to pay January's bills. So, I thought of different ways to budget my time. I have talked to a few friends and asked them what they do. I even found a few writers who even work Christmas day.

But, think about it. Freelance writers do not need to work late Christmas eve, and they are not forced to go back into the office. There is more freedom in one way - but - what do we do with that freedom?
