After writing more than fifty articles on how to write ebooks - and writing a dozen articles on the benefits of writing ebooks - I thought I would take the plunge and write some.
My motivation was the fact that it is years between the time my books go out of print, and are available again.
The second motivation is that I can release 10 smaller ebooks, that target specific problems, instead of making readers wade through 400 pages in the complete book.
This also gave me a chance to release my dog care books with color photos. I know that PalmPilots won't handle them, but photos make the information so much easier to understand.
However, once again, I am on a new platform. I have published Novel Writer Magazine. I have edited books for a publishing company in the USA. I have been a freelance writer. I make money writing reviews. I blog. I own a book publishing company.... and I feel like 'here I go again.'

Actually, I have learned so much in a few short weeks that I am embarrased that I wrote those articles on epublishing.
Ebooks follow Grant's forumula for adult education far more than I originally expected. I am afraid that my error came from reading poorly written ebooks from a year or two ago. It is amazing how much the industry has grown.
So - teach me....do you write ebooks? Have you epublished?
What compiler do you use?
What layout do you prefer?
What is your balance between defining the problem and offering a solution? I am currently using 40%/60%.
Do you leave a lot of white space?
Is there an optimum page count?
What topics sell better?
Are there majic marketing prices?
Did you manage to get listed on fictionwise.com?
