I hate waiting until the last minute before I go Christmas shopping. First, I always buy the wrong thing and then spend the rest of the year wishing I had put more thought into the gift. Second, I always spend too much.
The Christmas rush is 'not' the time to be trying to buy meaningful gifts for your loved ones, and it is not the time to try finding bargains - yes there are a lot of sales - but have you ever noticed that those sales never match what the sales in January or June.
There are also things you never think of buying. Your aunt may be a golf fan. At Christmas you buy her some gimmick gift instead of a few pieces of quality golf apparel ladies will actually wear.
Or, maybe your aunt loves her dog. Instead of buying a dog shirt with a goofy saying, go shopping earlier, like August/September, and buy her something the dog really needs, like a small exercise pen.
