Don't Pay for a Writing Job and Other Freelance Writing Myths

I was talking to litekeeper last night and the conversation turned to paid freelance writing places. We laughed at the number of times we saw bloggers talk about these posts, and how we were so 'noble' as to tell the world that these opportunities were scams. But - we both grew up.

Litekeeper started the conversation because someone reviewed Elance and said it was a scam. Litekeeper has made more there than some people make working a 40 hour a week job. I mentioned about a few places where I pay, and make money, but most people think they are scams.

Some people will make money at one place, others will do well at another. I do great at ifreelance, but did terrible at guru. But, I know people who top $40 000 a year at guru.

The facts are simple - if you have the skills - if you learn how to bid - and if you promote so your blogs have PR3 or higher - then you'll win bids. But, more important - you will meet people and you will learn. That, is the most important element of building a work at home freelance writing career.
