I often ask freelance writers what their work area looks like, and the quality of their computer. I also ask how it is decorated. It is amazing to find a correlation between authors who make very little money and their surroundings.
I was surfing today and came across quoizel lighting. My first question was, 'Who would spend $250 for a desk lamp?' Then, I realized that many work at home professionals would invest in something from quoizel lighting as well as a good office chair, updated computer, and good keyboard.
The writers who make very little money are more likely to have a corner on the dinning room table, or be working from a table in a corner. They work from old computers, and never take into consideration their lighting, heat, or ventilation.
Writers who make good money are more likely to have an office area which is respected by their family. They are also more likely to have good lighting and nice fixtures like I saw at quoizel lighting.
Something to think about when setting up a work at home office.
