How do I sell my book? Use Amazon.
Even if your publisher does not have a listing on Amazon, you can get your book listed there by sending them 3 copies to put in their warehouse. Then, you are set.
First, you must buy something so you can use their system. Once you do - there are rating systems, reviews, forums - and MILLIONS OF BOOK BUYERS. This is the #1 book selling site in the world. And yet, very few authors use it.
Want proof that it works? Look at what Nikki Leigh sent me this morning.

You won't believe this -- take a look at Widow's Walk (the book that comes before Lady Lightkeeper in the series) -- http://www.amazon.com/WIDOWS-WALK-Book-Misty-Cove/dp/1594313431/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/104-5260102-3162302?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189537012&sr=8-2
In case the rank changes, this is where it dropped -
was 4,299,800 this morning
now 84,137 at 3 pm
YAHOOOOOOO -- Sorry, a little excited :)

Now, look at how her page differs from most other people's. Yes, Nikki is a blog tour manager and PR agent for authors --- but, if you don't learn from the best, then most of what you are learning is a waste of effort.
There is also a community at Barns & Noble, Baker & Taylor, Myspace - all of these places will help you sell books. If you don't use them, then you are overlooking more PR than your publisher can ever afford to pay for.
Each of these communities work like a blog community. I am sure that you have noticed at www.communati.com that the avid bloggers see the best results. The same is true at book communities. Those who are visible, constantly, will see more book sales than those who are active for a week or two than quit, or those who do nothing more than brag about their book. Or, to put it another way 'the more you give to the community, the more it will give you.'
