Time to Relax

I've been discussing relaxing on several blogs over the last few days. Summer is over. The kids are in school. Life is back to normal, but most freelance writers are super stressed as they fall back into their 'make money' schedule. There is almost a panic to make up the lost income from the summer.

This is not a good thing. It will make it difficult for you to write well. There are several ways to combat it. Many writers are attending writer's conferences or retreats. Others are taking a course to 'get back into the groove.' Some are heading out for a private vacation.

A private vacation is often overlooked by writers. If you were a programmer in a big corporation, your family would not think it weird if you took a 3 day Florida rental vacation home and put everything into perspective - but writers fail to take their own psych and emotions into consideration.

Maybe this year, instead of overburdening yourself. Find 4 - 10 other writers and plan your own writer's retreat in Florida.
